What do the children do in Star Turns (age 5-6) ?

Children in these classes learn all about creativity, using their imagination and build on their improvisation skills.  They are taught about spatial awareness, rhythm, movement, performance and expression.  Their teacher, Janey,  brings in props every week and ends the class with a bubble machine which the kids love.  Their confidence soars as they are free to be themselves. The classes are aimed to help the children progress into Star Turns.

Are parents allowed into class with the under 7’s?

We ask that parents stay in the class with the children until the children feel confident enough to take part in the class independently.  This allows them to be free to express themselves without looking for parental approval. This is when you see them really being creative and imaginative. The classes are aimed to prepare the children to move into the Performing Arts School where they will do an hour of each discipline.

Do you do performances?

We have a street dance troupe called “360 Elite”.  The kids are of mixed ages but of the same ability. They are being trained and conditioned so they are ready to enter into competitions and perform at corporate events. Entry into the troupe is by audition only in the normal dance class.  360 Elite members must attend both dance classes.

We also have two bands, a teen girl group called “Shades of Autumn” and a pre-teen group called “Popcorn Kids” These children/teenagers have the use of wireless microphones and have choreographed routines.  Entry into the band is by audition only in the singing class. They are building a repertoire and are ready to perform at Corporate events.

In addition to “360 Elite”, “Shades of Autumn” and “Popcorn Kids” we do source other events and in preparation for this we take the singers and anyone that would like to sing a solo to a recording studio.  These tracks are then used to enhance the kids performance. You can see an example of this on the home page, scroll down and you will see footage under “Behind The Scenes”

We also get opportunities to perform at high profile charity events and we have taken part in Dance@London Stadium where the kids performed a routine on the pitch at half time between Saracens and Harlequin rugby match with Tokio Myers, the 2017 winner of BGT!
